What types of jewelry do you offer?
We offer pendants, necklaces and keychains in .925 sterling silver, 24k gold plated over .925 sterling silver and antique finished .925 sterling silver.
How long will my jewelry last?
We use high quality .925 sterling silver with anti-tarnish qualities as the base metal for all of our jewelry. With proper care and cleaning, your Messages in Metal purchase is crafted to last for years to come.
Can you engrave on the back of the item?
No, we do not currently offer engraving on the back of our jewelry.
Can I request a specific size pendant or custom piece?
Absolutely! We encourage our customers to contact us with custom designs they would like created. In most cases, we can fulfill those requests with no problem.
Can I see my item before it’s sent to me?
Unfortunately, we cannot send a proof of your item.
Do you have jewelry specific for children?
We carry jewelry that is theme specific for men, women, grandparents, moms, dads and yes, even children.
Is the jewelry made in the US?
It sure is! From design to creation to packaging and shipping, we oversee the entire process right here in our home state of Montana. From start to finish, your Messages in Metal purchase is in our hands!
Does chain length include the pendant?
The chain length does not include the pendant. Our standard chains for pendants that are not attached is a 20” chain with a 2” extension. For those pendants such as the name necklaces or the bar necklaces where the chain is physically attached to the pendant via rings, the chain length is 18” PLUS the length of pendant, plus an included 3” extension. The overall length for the name necklaces and the bar necklaces with the chain attached is typically between 19” and 22”, depending on the number of characters in the name.

What kind of metals are in my custom jewelry?
We use high grade .925 sterling silver. Additionally, we offer 24k gold plated over .925 sterling silver.
Are the metals in the jewelry hypoallergenic?
No, the jewelry is NOT hypoallergenic.
Is your jewelry plated?
All of our gold jewelry is 24k gold plated over .925 sterling silver.
Can I get my jewelry in 14K gold or white gold?
No we do not offer 14k gold jewelry or white gold jewelry. All of our jewelry is .925 sterling silver, 24k gold plated over .925 sterling silver or antique finished .925 sterling silver.
What kind of stones are in the jewelry?
All the stones in our jewelry are genuine Swarovski gemstones.
Jewelry Care FAQ’s
Will the jewelry tarnish?
Our products are manufactured using high grade .925 sterling silver with anti-tarnish qualities. This significantly reduces the likelihood of tarnishing however occasional polishing is needed. Sterling silver will oxidize over time but with proper cleaning and polishing with a dry lint free cloth a couple of times a month, the jewelry should continue to look brand new and remain tarnish free.
Can I wear my jewelry in water?
We recommend that you do NOT wear your jewelry in water. Chemicals from swimming pools and hot tubs can compromise the integrity of the metal. Additionally, we suggest that you remove your jewelry before showering or bathing as soaps and lotions can contain chemicals that may harm or damage the surface of the jewelry.
How should I clean my jewelry?
We recommend that you refrain from using jewelry cleaners or abrasive chemicals that may damage the exterior surface of the jewelry and/or compromise the integrity of the jewelry. Instead, a solution of 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of water can be used to remove heavy tarnish. Dry thoroughly and polish with a jeweler’s cloth or a dry lint free cloth. Regular maintenance is the best way to clean your jewelry and will help to keep any oil or dirt build-up from happening on the surface of the jewelry.

Where does my order come from?
Your order will come directly from our facility in Montana. Messages in Metal is located in Great Falls, MT and all designing, creating, packaging and shipping is done in house and we control the entire process.
What if I have a problem with my order?
If there are questions or concerns or issues with your order, give us a call right away. We stand behind our quality of products as well as our quality of customer service and will address your concerns immediately.
When will I know when my order is done/shipped?
Once your order is complete and a shipping label has been created you will receive an email with the tracking information at the email address you used when creating the order.
Where do you ship to?
We ship all over the world. Visit our shipping page to find out more and if you don’t see your location, give us a call.
How do I track my order?
All orders will be assigned a tracking number when preparing for shipment. The tracking number will then be sent to the email used when placing the order within 24 hours of the order shipping.
Why does it take 2-3 days to ship my order?
All of our jewelry is custom made to order jewelry. We don’t begin manufacturing your jewelry until your order has been processed. There are no prefabricated pendants, keychains or necklaces at Messages in Metal. Everything is considered a ‘special order’ and manufactured on demand.
Can my order be shipped UPS?
We use USPS for delivery within the United States. All other orders are shipped via FedEx.
Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses?
We ship all over the world, including APO/FPO addresses.
