The Columbian Exposition Half Dollar is a silver half dollar that was the first commemorative coin produced by the US Mint. The coin was minted in 1982 to commemorate the Worlds Columbian Expo in Chicago. The coin displays the profile of Christopher Columbus and the reverse side of the coin features the Santa Maria and two globes.
